Burger – the king of fast food that conquered the world
The burger is a classic of modern cuisine that has won the hearts of people all over the world. Easy to prepare, tasty and versatile, it has become a favorite dish not only in fast food establishments, but also in restaurants, where it is prepared with special exquisite ingredients.
History of the burger
The burger has an interesting history that dates back to the end of the 19th century. Most likely, its roots go back to the German city of Hamburg, where similar meat dishes began to be served. However, the popularity of the burger as we know it today was gained thanks to American innovations in the 1920s, when the first fast food chains were created.
The Classic Burger Ingredients
A classic burger consists of several main components:
- The bun is soft, lightly toasted on both sides to prevent moisture from being absorbed.
- The meat is usually a beef patty (you can also use chicken, turkey, or vegan alternatives), seasoned with salt and pepper.
- The cheese is traditionally cheddar, but you can be creative with brie, mozzarella, or any other option.
- Vegetables are lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, classic additions that add freshness and flavor.
- Sauces are mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, or specialty yogurt-based or barbecue sauces.
How to make the perfect burger?
The perfect burger depends on several key aspects:
- Meat quality – for patties it is better to use meat with a medium fat content, about 20%. This will allow the burger to be juicy.
- Proper frying – do not overcook the patty! The steak for the burger should be medium rare to maintain juiciness.
- Proper assembly – start with the bottom half of the bun, put the sauce, patty, cheese, vegetables and finish with the top bun.
- Dry the bun – dry the bun well on a pan or grill before assembling. This will make the burger less moist.
